It has been quite the process from rushing to obtain my BSN from having my ADN, to submitting letters of recommendations- the whole 9-yards. Question: Once you're credentialed in as Critical Care, how hard is it to get into CRNA school into USUHC, would you happen to know? I am curious in taking that route. I am almost 30, an ER nurse of 3 years (2.5 years as an LPN, 6 months as an RN). I have my ADN and plan for my BSN. My goals and dreams are to be a flight nurse and I’m considering doing so within the AF through the Air National Guard route. I’m curious to know how that process goes for someone who has those goals.

I don’t regret one bit joining even though I got dumped off with the Army for a one year deployment to Afghanistan. I had it easy for the most part. I did 21 years and also have 90% disability and a civil service job. I only retired as a TSgt, but that was my choice. My regrets were I didn’t PCS all over the world and get more education. I spent most of my career in San Antonio at Lackland and was a single dad 9 years stationed near home to have my parents help out as needed. And education. I got a CCAF, but always had trouble in school. I was afraid of taking classes that I would fail and have to pay back the entire tuition out of pocket. But I maintained C’s and some B’s. And I was Services. The red-headed stepchild of career fields. Low-skill, dysfunctional, and full of miserable and unmotivated Airmen. Not sugarcoating it, it’s always been that way.

31 years old and anythings better then the mundane life i live now. I'd rather suffer in the Air Force then suffer in this bullshit.

What if I went in not knowing anything I have heard they will teach you whatever task is needed but say I don’t want to be on frontlines will they just position me where they feel is best or what is needed more of?

Was planning on getting out last year but I took a deep look at myself, and realized that nukes had always been my calling. Pinned O-4 today and I'm now planning to do 20 yrs as a 13N.

Is USU the only school Air Force recognizes for CRNA education?

I found your videos on RUclips and watched most of them, which inspired me to reach out. First of all, thank you for your service. I have always been interested in becoming an Air Force nurse, but the age limit was quite restrictive before, and I didn't have much experience. I recently discovered that the maximum age limit has been raised to 47 years old, which has reignited my interest in becoming an Air Force nurse. Before I see a recruiter, I would like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind: 1. What tests do I need to take during the application process? 2. What tests are required during OTS, and what happens if I don't pass them? 3. What is the maximum age for active-duty Air Force nurses? 4. Will I have the opportunity to stay at an international base for longer than six months, based on my preferences? 5. I have three years of experience in IMC and ICU and two years as an acute care case manager (away from bedside skills). What field would you recommend I apply for? Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hey thanks for the video! I’m actually looking into MSC while thinking about getting my masters. Very informative video. My only question is that is a AACSB make you more competitive because I’ve talked to a healthcare recruiter and he said it only has to be from a nationally accredited masters. The mba program I’m thinking about going into has a ACBSP accreditation.
